NE Patriots Cheat or not to cheat?!?! finish with perfect season 16-0

The year 2007 has been a much volatile roller coaster ride, not only in the NFL.
Baseball has had the steroid situation. Oval office having pedophilia scandal.
NE Patriots accused of cheating. If what NE did was in fact considered cheating then yes, they should be punished.
Not with an asteric .

With one mighty heave, Tom Brady and Randy Moss took care of the record
books. Now it's down to business for the unbeaten New England Patriots:
stamping themselves as the greatest team in NFL history.

The Patriots completed a perfect if somewhat joyless journey
through the regular season Saturday night, finishing with a remarkable
16-0 record following a thrilling 38-35 comeback victory over the New
York Giants.

New England became the first NFL team since the 1972 Dolphins
to win every game on the schedule, and that one was only 14-0. This
victory required a comeback from a 12-point deficit engineered by the
brilliant Brady, and smashed the Patriots' league mark for consecutive
victories.

Validation of their inexorable march through the season can
only come by adding a Super Bowl championship, their fourth of the
decade. Do that and there'll be no challenge to their spot at the top.

Mayweather (Over Ricky Hatton) (unfortuantly) adds adds another WIN to the colum. ...And still Undefeated

Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. never needed much help in the ring, but what if that ring he’s fighting in is Hip-Hop?

Respect:
Allhiphop.com

Mayweather, who has rechristened himself as “Money,” plans to take the leap in to the world of Hip-Hop as a rapper, and he’s got the biggest knock-out artist in his corner, 50 Cent. In addition to ghostwriting, Mayweather says 50 Cent is a friend who has been supportive of his stellar boxing career. He’s confident enough to spit raps for all to judge and ballsy enough to ballroom dance in front of millions of scrutinizing eyes – go figure.

There’s a good reason for the one formerly known as “Pretty Boy” to assert his dominance in such a brash manner. The Hip-Hop pugilist is generally regarded as the best pound-for-pound boxer in the world with 38 wins, 24 of which ended in knock out. Before he can get to record his rap album, he’s got to contend with another extremely confident, unbeaten champ named Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton of Britain (43 wins, 31knockouts). He faces Hatton tonight (Dec. 8) on pay-per-view, but Mayweather says his opponent has as much chance of winning as Ice Man has in Hell. That’s convinced.

In Las Vegas, at 24 Hour Fitness Gym, Floyd “Money” Mayweather rolled out his blueprint to AllHipHop.com and unveiled his plans to work with 50 Cent, offered a listen to his new song “Yep” and explained how he is going to fight his way into entertainment like he’s done with boxing.

-Intro by Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur

AllHipHop.com: So, Floyd you officially dropped the moniker “Pretty Boy” and replaced it with “Money.”

Floyd Mayweather: Pretty Boy Floyd isn’t my name any more—they keep calling me that. But my name is Floyd “Money” Mayweather. It’s Money Mayweather, until the day I die. When you say the Mayweather name, it’s about money. When you’re talking Mayweather, you’re talking money.

AllHipHop.com: Recently you were a participant in the ABC Network series “Dancing With The Stars” and got eliminated in the fourth round, what was that experience like?

Floyd Mayweather: Well, it had me upset at first but I got over it. It was a great experience. I wish I could do it again, but I’m told they only let you do it once. My advisor Leonard Ellerbe worked on that deal for over a year. It was an amazing show. I was basically letting people from the urban communities know that it’s okay to step outside the box and try something different. Everything isn’t always based upon Hip-Hop and R&B. I’m not too hardcore to go on “Dancing With The Stars.” I’m not afraid to go on network television every week and expose myself to a different audience consisting of 20 or 30 million viewers and not have to be on pay-per-view to do it.

AllHipHop.com: You recently had a meeting with Barack Obama, how did that go?

Floyd Mayweather: I can’t talk about it because it was confidential. No disrespect. I can’t discuss what we spoke about. The HBO crew was with me filming “24/7” and they had to turn the cameras off. But, I can say this. It was great to see a man who comes from the same background as me doing such big things. I am encouraging voters from the ages of 18-34 to get out there and vote.

AllHipHop.com: Speaking of big things, you recently showed off your house on TV - pretty impressive.

Floyd Mayweather: When I first moved to Vegas I lived on Flamingo and Cobalt Lane at the Meridian. It was a luxury apartment. I was sitting on about half a million. When Tupac was murdered it occurred on the corner where I lived. The crib I have now is 12,000 square feet and everything is paid for. The majority of the cars are paid for. A couple of them we lease just to keep our credit right, but we don’t have to. The last Maybach (62) I bought I spent 411 thousand, cash. The McClaren I spent half million cash on. Whatever I want I go out there and buy. I’m not a rapper who’s on an album talking about it. You got a lot of rappers that just talk about it. But me, I really live it. Not to knock what rappers talk about. But, I really own my own my 12,000 square-foot mansion. I really own these cars. All of this stuff is paid for. I really got eight figures liquid cash. I’m not far from $100 million—at all.

AllHipHop.com: So how’s everything working out with your record label, Philthy Rich Records.

Floyd Mayweather: With my record label Philthy Rich Records what we’re trying to do is scout talent and get them deals with major labels. As far as signing rappers to a deal—it just don’t work like that anymore. Rappers are not loyal at all! My history goes back to the first rapper I signed, Dirt Bomb. He was underground. He couldn’t accept the fact that labels didn’t want to take him because his music was too underground. He just couldn’t take it. He went on about his business and we went on about our business. We have H-Flo from Cleveland, Ohio and Baggz Lombardi from Atlantic City, NJ signed to us. They’re exceptional rappers. Earl Hayes is another rapper who we spent tons of money on. He signed with Dr. Dre and Interscope. Dr. Dre and Interscope are not good business men, but great business men. We’re interested in helping Chilli from TLC get her project out there. She got one hell of a project. She’s also a close friend of mine.

AllHipHop.com: I came across your rap video on the internet. Since when did you start rapping?

Floyd Mayweather: I don’t call it rapping. I call it s**t talking. I got too much money to be a rapper. You saw it. It wasn’t nothing but a freestyle on there. I was playing around. I had a Floyd Mayweather weekend. A DJ from Atlanta came out here. He brought his guy out here that had a camcorder. He asked me if it was alright if he recorded some of me partying and talking for a youtube contest. I said, ‘No problem!’ I told him I just wanted to see it first. He agreed. The next thing you know this guy went out there and made up any type of video that he wanted to make up and went put it up on youtube. I was highly upset, because we got plans on shooting a real video for the song.

AllHipHop.com: Ok, so tell me about the song?

Floyd Mayweather: It’s called "Yep," some people spell it "Yup." However you wanna spell it is how you spell it. Everything I’m taking about on the song is real. The hook goes like this, “1 to the 2, 2 to the 3, these hating ass niggas can’t fuck with me. It’s like 4 to the 5, 5 to the 6, these hatin’ ass niggas all in my mix.” I’m sticking to the basic ABCs and 123s. I’m not trying to go all outside the box. I’m talking about what’s real and what I really got. It’s no fronting where I come from. I come from the Southeast Side [of Grand Rapids, Michigan].

AllHipHop.com: I know you have referred to 50 Cent as one of your best friends. Did he have any influence on your decision to rap or shit talk?

Floyd Mayweather: Well, I’m pretty sure he’s going to be in the video for my single. If not that doesn’t change our friendship. 50 Cent is an icon in the Hip-Hop world just as I am in the sport of boxing. I look at myself as an entertainer. I don’t want to label myself as just a fighter. Just being an A-lister and talking with 50 Cent, he’s very intelligent and he’s one hell of a business man. 50 Cent heard my song and told me, ‘Floyd I thought you was going to be bull shittin’ with the music. But after hearing your song, you can really do this.’ It made me feel good. Now I’m ready to o go out there and shit talk, trash talk or whatever they want to call it. I’m not a rapper. I got to much money to be a rapper.

(See, Money Mayweather’s “Yep” and continue reading below the video as the story continues.)

Introducing the GilIIZero--- G.Arenas new shoe(s)

In honor of the Saints, I might have to
break out these black and gold
beauties on February 25 in New Orleans.

Zero's Back with a Brand New Edition

I know this is what a lot of people have been waiting for. For all the
shoeheads out there, allow me to introduce you to the adidas GiIIZero.
I was calling them the Gil 20s, because that's how it's pronounced, but
when you go to buy them in the store (which I know you will) it will
say GilIIZero on the box. I just wanted to clear that up so you don't get confused and think Boyz II Men has a shoe or something.

There are going to be 20 different versions of my shoe next year. Most
of them are limited editions. I have 18 different color ways and then
two 'inline' versions, you know, that meet all the uniform standards of
David Stern and the NBA.

18Hibachi??????
This is the Benihana collab. Time for you all to decide. Should I drop this shoe in Boston, Chicago, Cleveland, Memphis, Orlando or Philadelphia? Tell me what city should get it.

The Background Story

This was a concept that adidas came up with last spring after I wore a
special edition shoe on a West Coast trip when I hit the game winner
against Seattle. Everybody was asking me like, 'Where did you get those
from?' I was like, 'Yeah, they're mine. They're a one-of-one. They're a
special edition that I just have. They're not out in stores.' So I gave
that pair to one of the ball kids in L.A. at the Clippers game, and
that was the end of that.

Coca-Cola trials re-sealable cans

Coca-Cola can

Coca-Cola has been testing a new drinks can in the Channel Islands which can be re-sealed by customers.

It works by using a flat plastic tab that swivels over the can's opening.

The soft drinks giant, which has tried out the new
design in Jersey and Guernsey, is now assessing the idea and whether to
roll it out further.

A spokeswoman said the new cans were creating "a lot of buzz", but there were no current plans to introduce them in the UK.

She said: "We are continually looking at ways to innovate across our portfolio.

"In line with trends for functional packaging and based
on customer feedback, a re-sealable can format is currently being
trialled."

Petition: Should Super Bowl Sunday be a National Holiday? Hells Yes: Lets Make It Official !

Is this a joke? Absolutely not.
Have others tried this and failed? Absolutely. So why is football.com spearheading a holiday revolution, and what exactly does this petition entail? I'm glad you asked, because I was just about to divulge.

Quite simply, a signature on this petition offers support to the grand idea that Super Bowl Sunday become an official national holiday. Commercial holidays are a dime a dozen, and anyone can declare any “date or day” a holiday. That isn't to say that everyone will jump on board “No Underpants Day,” but nonetheless, such a day can exist, and perhaps it already does. As fun-loving and fantastic as that is, the goal of this petition isn't to simply combine the word “Happy” with “Super Bowl Sunday.” Specifically, we at football.com are determined to spur action within the United States Congress to make the world's single largest sporting event a most uniquely American holiday. An act of Congress is the only way to bring national recognition to a day, and thus you understand the importance of your involvement.

Why Congress Will Listen

It's ironic that the name “Super Bowl” was a suggestion made by former Kansas City Chiefs owner Lamar Hunt, during a brainstorming session with former NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle. The irony: The suggestion was a joke – a joke based on a rubber ball that Hunt's children played with, and that we probably all enjoyed in our youth, known as the “Super Ball.” Due to the popularity of the college bowl games, the name was to be used as a place holder until something better could be thought of. Yet it immediately spread its wings, and before they knew it, the wingspan had grown into something unimaginable.

Over the past 42 years, the Super Bowl has evolved into something that transcends the world of sport. Nowhere else in the world, at any time, is there a game of such significance combined with the definitive example of commercial entertainment – not the World Series, not the Olympics, not the World Cup. It is a single game played in a short window of time, while viewers from almost every continent (we'll let Antarctica slide), tune in to see some of the best commercials, iconic names in the world of music and ultimately, some of the finest athletes the world has to offer. All of it for a trophy named after one of history's greatest coaches – America's coach, Vince Lombardi.

The day itself is saturated with activity involving family, friends, loads of fun and of course, faith – it is Sunday after all. Regardless of whether you're up early for church, or lost in dreamland until noon, by the time 3 P.M. rolls around, the Interfaith nacho cheese will be softening beautifully in the crock pot. People of all shapes, sizes, sexes, races and religions coming together in the pursuit of a singular goal: To have a great time. Not only does this game, this “Super Bowl,” transcend the world of sport, it offers the bridge to transcend our cultural differences. Metaphorically speaking, in essence...it is America.

The day already is a holiday. It's simply time to make it official!

Willis McGahee officially on Bills most hated list. * does't matter* He will prevail

Fannation.com

*McGahee* will have a little more then
the 75 yards he gained in the last 4 games.

150 plus yards.
1 reception
1 TD (2nd TD in Raven history)

Only days removed from Willis McGahee's much-anticipated return to Buffalo, all of the swagger has disappeared from the Ravens'
running back. During his 20-question session with reporters yesterday,
McGahee repeatedly showed his uneasiness about reliving his acrimonious
divorce from the Bills,
whether it was swaying back and forth nervously, fidgeting with his
gloves or carefully measuring his words. McGahee should be a bit
concerned. He is considered one of the most hated Bills in team history, and fans in western New York have been waiting for his return since he was traded to the Ravens
in March for three draft picks. Many fans likely will be wearing
"Willis Is Trash" T-shirts that can be bought online. There's even a
rap song about McGahee that goes, "Baltimore got our garbage because
Willis is trash."

Bills to start rookie QB Edwards over Losman against Ravens

Trent VS McGahee and Ravens

I don't know if the rookie has what it takes. If i am correct this will be Trent Edwards 1st official start for the 2007 season.
Those NFL fans know previous Bills starting running back Willis McGahee is now a self improving addition to the Ravens. Willis will have much to gain from every drive he can get his hands on. Trent Edwards, Dude you better bring you A through Z game and make sure you un-pack it from you travel bag before you step on that purple heavy game!!

Come=back (RB) Priest Holmes might play Sunday, Coach Herm Edwards says

CBSSports.com

Priest Holmes is on the practice field. Says he had a dream of playing football once again.
Holmes is in great shape and looks to be over 10lbs lighter from 2005 . The year Shawne Merriman popped Priest hard enough to have him out for almost 2 season.never the less I really truly can not wait to see him on the 100 yard field at last. For now, if all works out Priest will back-up Larry Johnson. i dont think Holmes will be a back up for very long is he becomes complete fast. L.J is not having the season that the NFL paid him for to void a hold out. I say it now Priest will be a starter before the end of next season if not sooner. Good luck to all.
**** Baltimore Ravens will over take 2007-08 season.*****

The Chiefs traded backup running back
Michael Bennett to Tampa Bay
for draft picks onTuesday, creating
a spot behind starter Larry Johnson

  • When Holmes was healthy he was one of the most productive running backs in the NFL. He owns 18 Chiefs single-game and career records, including career marks for yards rushing (5,933), total touchdowns (83) and TDs rushing (76).

A great guide on coffee. All you need to know decaf-cafe-tall-grande americano etc.

My own 2 cents:: If you are a veteran bean drinker try adding 1/4 - 1/2 8Oz of red bull. My before lunch daily booster to push me through to the end of a 10hr work day. Kids and squeamish please do NOT try this on your own without speaking to an adult 1st. happy sipping to all.

Broncos Travis Henry could lose bonus money, salary if suspended

Denver Broncos tailback Travis Henry,
who is fighting a one-year ban for a repeat violation of the NFL
substance abuse policy, would likely suffer significant financial
losses if he is eventually suspended by the league.

Travis Henry

Henry

Henry, 28, signed a five-year, $22.5 million contract with the Broncos in March, only days after the Tennessee Titans
released him to avoid paying an $8 million roster bonus that he was due
early in the month. The contract with the Broncos includes language
that stipulates Henry must repay a $6 million signing bonus, or
whatever portion of it he has been paid, if he is suspended for drugs
at any time during the term of the deal.

To date, Henry
has received $2 million of the signing bonus. Another $1 million is due
in November, and the final $3 million installment is due to be paid in
March 2008.

In an affidavit filed as part of his lawsuit
to try to block the NFL's testing of the so-called "B-sample" of his
urine specimen, Henry stated: "If I fail this test, I will be suspended
for one year from my employment, and will be obliged to repay all
signing bonuses paid to date."

The Broncos would
probably withhold future installments of the signing bonus if Henry is
suspended. If his case is not resolved quickly and Denver is forced to
make payments on the rest of the signing bonus, the Broncos would then
seek to recover that money if Henry does not prevail in court and is
eventually banned for a year.

But the potential forfeiture
of the singing bonus is just part of the financial ramifications that
could impact Henry if he is suspended.

According to salary
documents obtained by ESPN.com, Henry's contract also calls for a $6
million option bonus due in the spring of 2009. The Broncos almost
certainly would not pay that bonus if he is suspended.

The
option bonus is guaranteed for "injury only," meaning that, if the
Broncos failed to exercise it, the only way they would be liable for
the $6 million is if Henry had suffered a career-ending injury.

So
far this season, in addition to the $2 million in signing bonus money,
Henry has earned $135,000 of his $595,000 base salary for 2007 and
collected a $100,000 offseason workout bonus. The Broncos can not
recover any of the base salary or workout bonus money. And Henry will
make an additional $35,000 for every week that he is on the roster,
which also would not be subject to recovery if he earns it.

Because
he is a vested veteran, Henry's base salary for 2007 is guaranteed. But
if Henry is suspended without pay, the sanction overrides the guarantee.

His
base salaries for future seasons, which obviously would be jeopardized
by suspension, are $730,000 for 2008, $1.375 million in 2009, $2.4
million in 2010 and $3.9 million in 2011. There are offseason workout
bonuses of $100,000 for each of those seasons. And in the final two
seasons of the contract, there are roster bonuses of $500,000 each. All
of that money could be at risk.

Loss of income could also
affect Henry's ability to meet certain legal responsibilities. In a
child-support action in Georgia earlier this year, it was revealed that
Henry has fathered nine children by nine different women. Courts in
several jurisdictions have ordered him to make child-support payments
for seven of the children.

Pacquiao made weight had his last meal arrived in Vegas ready to fight ( Barrera)

Take a look at Manny Pacquiao appearance days before
tonights fight ( Oct 6,07 ).If you have been a Pacquiao fan then you know this is a ritual
before his fights.Pacquiao says “Nagmukhang bata ako, ah (I look younger),”
Much like a warrior now, rid the corn field look. Waiting in desperation I would like to see Pacquiao take the win in less then 8 rounds. Barrera speaks loud when saying this will be the last fight for his career, win or lose, oops or draw, I assume too.
In a few hours and if you are a betting man like i am for this match. You will be receiving a check or signing one over.

UFC 76 *KNOCKOUT* Break-Down

Watch UFC predictions!

Undercard results:

Matt Wiman def. Michihiro Omigawa via unanimous decision

Christian Wellisch def. Scott Junk via heel hook submission, Round

Jeremy Stephens def. Diego Saraiva via unanimous decision

Rich Clementi def. Anthony Johnson via rear-naked choke submission, Round 2

Main card:

Thiago Tavares vs. Tyson Griffin

Get ready for a barn-burner. I'm not sure my fingers will be able to keep up with the action, but I'll do my best.

Round one: Tavares looks a little gunshy early as Griffin takes
control of the center of the octagon and stalks Tavares around the
ring. Griffin shoots in for a takedown about 1:30 into the round, which
shows that Griffin is extremely confident as Tavares is dangerous on
the ground. Griffin lands a heavy shot in the guard before the two
scramble to their feet. Tavares tried a judo throw takedown but Griffin
managed to reverse position and ended up on top. Griffin got into
danger during a scramble when Tavares briefly got his back, but Griffin
escaped. Griffin is getting the better of the standup. Good round with
Griffin getting the nod in my book.

Round two: Tavares landed a flying knee early that shook Griffin up,
and when Tavares ran in to close the distance, Griffin hammered him
with a right before Tavares got a takedown. Tavares worked himself into
full mount until Griffin tried to buck up, giving up his back. Tavares
locked in a body triangle with his legs and tried to sink in the rear
naked choke from a standing position. Griffin showed incredible stamina
and strength, holding Tavares up for a long time before he finally
shook him off. Tavares then nearly pulled an armbar. Great display by
both fighters. Griffin stood up and looked to punish his opponent with
punches, meanwhile Tavares looked for a submission opening at every
opportunity. Griffin tried a guillotine but Tavares worked his way out
and took Tyson's back. Griffin dropped down, basically pile-driving
Tavares face-first into the mat. Tavares head was cut as a result. This
was an unbelievable round. I score it for Tavares but it could go
either way.

Round three: Tavares shot in early for a takedown try, but Griffin's
had enough of the ground and stuffed the attempt. Griffin stuffed him
against the cage and threw shoulders into his face. Amazing sequence on
the ground when Tavares tried an omo plata and Griffin spun and wheeled
his way out. Just a thing of beauty. Griffin landed a big elbow against
the cage as the two faced off standing again. Tavares spent the last
minute and a half trying to take Griffin down and looking for a
submission. Wow, that is a tough round to score, and someone is not
going to be happy at the decision.

Winner: Tyson Griffin by unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28)

Lyoto Machida vs. Kazuhiro Nakamura

Round one: Machida landed a heavy body kick early on. The pair
clinched against the cage but neither did much with it. Nakamura tried
a judo throw but Machida ended up on top, in half-guard. The Brazilian
worked for a kimura briefly without success, and the two returned to
their feet. The crowd is decidedly uninterested so far. Nakamura
slipped down with about a minute left in the round, but Machida
struggled to pass his guard. Still, he managed a few elbows while in
top position. That's new for Nakamura as elbows weren't allowed in
Pride (but soccer kicks were, go figure). Machida won the round.

Round two: Machida came out with fury to start the round, unloading
and putting Nakamura down before landing heavy punches. Machida worked
for the mount and Nakamura gave up his back. Nakamura tried to spin out
of it, but ended up right back with Machida in mount again. Machida
sunk in a rear naked choke, but Nakamura fought it off and escaped.
Machida stayed patient and worked for full mount again. He's known for
being a patient counterstriker, but he's showing good aggressiveness in
this round. He did some damage before Nakamura found a way to scramble
to his feet. At this point, all Nakamura has been able to do is play
defense. Nakamura finally scored a takedown with 30 seconds remaining,
though he did very little with it as the final seconds of the round
slipped away. Another round for Machida.

Round three: Nakamura came out very aggressively, which is what you
like to see from a fighter who knows he's likely behind on the
scorecards. After the early flurry, he looked liked he began running
out of gas, and Machida sweeped him to the mat. Machida mounted him
again, but did nothing with the position as Nakamura bucked him off.
Machida landed what appeared to be a hard, straight left, though
Nakamura kept on forward, unfazed. Machida landed a knee to the head
and the body from the clinch with 30 seconds to go, then an elbow while
they fought agains the cage. The fans didn't love the fight, but it was
a strong performance from Machida.

Winner: Lyoto Machida via unanimous decision (30-27 on all judges' scorecards)

Diego Sanchez vs. Jon Fitch

Round one: Sanchez actually sprinted out to meet Fitch at the
opening bell, immediately going for a takedown. He abandoned the
attempt after a few seconds and the two went toe-to-toe. Sanchez again
went for the takedown but Fitch defended again. It will be interesting
to see how that affects Diego's gameplan. Fitch landed a couple of
short punches from in close but they went right back to the cage with
Sanchez leaning on Fitch. The crowd grew restless and Sanchez finally
took him down. Third time was the charm. Fitch got right back up and
returned the favor with a takedown of his own with two minutes left in
the round. Sanchez stayed active from the bottom, looking for a
triangle, then an armbar. Sanchez spun for an armbar again as Fitch
kept top position. This was a very close round. I'd give a slight edge
to Sanchez.

Round two: Sanchez went for the takedown immediately, but Fitch
ended up on top. The pair got back to their feet, and Sanchez scored a
takedown. Fitch tried to get up, lifting Sanchez's legs to take him
down. Fitch then took Sanchez's back and looked for a submission. A
crazy moment took place when Sanchez had his legs wrapped around
Fitch's head, and Fitch picked Sanchez up and slammed him down. Crowd
loved that one. This is just a back-and-forth scramble with neither man
able to gain momentum or do much damage. Fitch landed the best shots of
the fight with a pair of hammer fists late in the round that busted
Sanchez's nose. That round probably goes to Fitch.

Round three: Sanchez looked for a guillotine and it looked like he
had it, but Fitch amazingly flashed a thumbs-up sign, letting the crowd
and his corner know he wasn't in danger. Sanchez held it for at least
30 seconds, until Fitch popped out of the hold and threw a couple
punches. Sanchez then looked for a kimura but could never clear Fitch's
arm. Fitch stayed in top position for most of the rest of the round.
Sanchez tried a triangle choke but Fitch pulled out again. Sanchez was
trying to apply it again as time ran out. Another tough round to score,
but I give Sanchez the nod for his many attempts to finish the fight.

Winner: Jon Fitch by split decision (30-27 Fitch, 29-28 Sanchez, 29-28 Fitch)

That's 14 straight wins for Fitch, who will at least finally gain
some mainstream exposure for the win. Sanchez took the loss well,
saying, "he beat me fair and square, and I'm going to take it like a
man."

Joe Rogan again brought up the issue of scoring in the UFC, and it
will continue to pop up in close fights like this one, where Sanchez
was busy constantly trying for submissions yet Fitch escapes with the
win because of his positioning. In this case, it almost appears that
judges are giving more credit for takedown than for submission
attempts. In this writer's opinion, that's a mistake. While both moves
signal offensive aggression, a submission attempt is a try to end the
fight, a takedown is not.

Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Forrest Griffin

Round one: Shogun looks for the early takedown and Forrest defends
well as Rua ends up on the ground. Shogun scores with a takedown a
little over a minute in, and follows up with a couple elbows from the
guard. Forrest did an excellent job early controlling Shogun in his
guard. He used underhooks to get back to standing. Shogun showed his
trademark aggressivness coming forward, but Forrest used it against
him, taking Rua down. Griffin landed a hook and a right. Rua has a knot
on the left side of his head. Shogun shot in for another takedown,
putting Griffin right against the cage, but Griffin reversed it and
threw punches as time ran out. An excellent first round and Griffin has
already survived longer than many thought.

Round two: Shogun took Griffin down with a single-leg takedown and
fell right into his guard. Rua landed his first big shot, an elbow from
the guard, but Griffin popped up and back to his feet. Griffin then
scored a takedown and started hammering Rua. You can see that Shogun
wants this fight on the ground. He tried another single leg, this time
Forrest was ready and defended, adding a few hammer fists before the
two returned to standing. Rua looks tired now. He's renowned for his
engine, but it looks like it's idling. He's exhausted as he throws a
lazy punch and Forrest takes him down. Griffin lands elbows and
punches, scoring at will and beating Shogun down. Wow. I expected
Forrest to give him a run, but he's threatening to win this thing. He
wins the round.

Round three: Shogun took Forrest down to start the round, and
Griffin looked for a triangle, then an armbar. That would've been the
shock of the century if he pulled it off. Rua couldn't do much with the
position as the stalemated for a time. Eventually, Shogun did land a
couple elbows. Griffin then nearly shocked Rua again with an omo plata
try which eventually left Griffin in top position. Griffin took
advantage with shots. Rua looks physically depleted again. With a
minute to go, the crowd cheered on Griffin as he tried to mount the man
many in the world consider the best in the world at 205. Forrest sinks
in the rear naked choke and OH MY GOODNESS, he just shocked the world.
He finished Shogun with a rear naked choke. He submitted a Brazilian
jiu-jitsu black belt who many thought would walk through him and to a
title shot. This is a huge upset.

Winner: Griffin via rear naked choke, Round 3

The look on Griffin's face as he felt Rua tap out against his leg
was absolutely priceless, a mixture of joy and elation. Good for him.

Chuck Liddell vs. Keith Jardine

Round one: Jardine looks like he wants to throw those leg kicks that
he often uses to chop down his opponent. Probably a good idea. Liddell
caught him with a big right hook on the chin, but Jardine stayed
upright. Liddell started to measure him and cut the distance by backing
Jardine up near the cage. A Liddell left hook caused a cut over
Jardine's right eye. Jardine is doing a good job keeping Liddell
off-balance with leg kicks and combos. Of course, even an off-balance
Chuck is a dangerous Chuck as many have learned over the years. Liddell
caught Jardine late with a hard right but Jardine backed away and
smiled. Liddell wins the round, but Jardine survives, which should be a
confidence-booster.

Round two: Jardine caught Liddell with a hard right that put Liddell
back on the canvas, but Liddell seemed to recover quickly and Jardine
couldn't do anything to add to the damage. You can see Jardine's
confidence growing as he actually stuck his chin out towards Liddell
with his hands down at one point. Jardine is landing right hands and
Chuck is really having trouble finding the range. Jardine is bleeding
on both sides of his face. Liddell finished a scramble with a rare knee
to the head. Liddell looks fresher than Jardine right now, but my
opinion may be skewed by the blood decorating Jardine's face. Jardine
lasts the round and probably sneaks it out on some scorecards.

Round three: Jardine has done an impressive job with his leg kicks.
He uses the weapon better than most fighters. He hits another leg kick
followed by a hook that lands on the jaw of the ex-champ. This pace is
to Jardine's liking, with no particular flow or rhythm. The left side
of Chuck's body is red and his left leg must be the same color. The
crowd is stunned at what they are witnessing as Jardine lands a couple
of hooks with 1:30 to go. With 30 seconds to go, both men open up
trying to steal the round. They trade punches, Liddell throws a reverse
leg kick and Jardine scores on a hook. Stop the presses, a Chuck
Liddell fight has gone the distance. Jardine may have just pulled off
an upset.

Winner: Keith Jardine by split decision (29-28 Jardine, 29-28 Liddell, 29-28 Jardine)

Las Vegas PD: Slamming OJ Simpon in the slammer.

DID HE DO IT OR NOT?
WAS HIS MOTIVE ACCEPTABLE?

O.J. Simpson
Las Vegas Metropolitan Police began a press conference just after 3:50
PM PT and formally announced the arrest of O.J. Simpson in connection
with a gunpoint robbery on Thursday night.

Vegas police announced that they are holding Simpson on a myriad of charges.

Capt.
James Dillon said that three search warrants were prepared and evidence
collected, including two firearms and property reported stolen, and
clothing worn by suspects.

After review, they arrested O.J.
Simpson. Robbery detectives took O.J. into custody without incident. He
invoked his rights to an attorney and was transported to the detention
center. Robbery with a deadly weapon, two counts. Assault with a deadly
weapon, two counts. Conspiracy to commit burglary, and burglary with a
firearm.

O.J. will be transported and booked at Clark County
Detention Center, where bail will be determined based on the charges.
The investigation is "dynamic and ongoing."

The location of where the search warrants were served is being kept secret.

Lt.
Clint Nichols said the investigation is open and active. He would not
confirm that O.J. was armed, despite the charges. He would not discuss
the firearms.

Nichols said there was a social relationship between O.J. and the other parties involved.
People are still being sought in connection with the incident and may be Las Vegas residents.

Nichols
said that he didn't believe anyone was "roughed up," but said that
firearms were involved in the robbery. Nichols said that the issue of
the ownership of the property is still being sorted out, but said that
property not thought to belong to O.J. was also taken.

"We have
not recovered all of the property," said Nichols, "it was an extensive
list of sports memorabilia, most signed by Simpson and some Joe Montana
items and baseballs."

If convicted, O.J. could face three to thirty-five years -- for each count.

Bottle makes dirty water drinkable

Bottle makes dirty water drinkable

The Life Saver bottle, bottle makes dirty water drinkable

The
way fresh water is supplied to disaster-hit regions could be
revolutionised after an Ipswich-based businessman invented a £190
bottle that makes foul-smelling water drinkable in seconds.

Michael
Pritchard hopes that the bottle could be a life-saver for refugees in
disaster regions where access to clean drinking water is vital.

The Life Saver bottle, bottle makes dirty water drinkable
The Life Saver bottle, which can clean up the dirtiest water being demonstrated

However,
the military are already latching on to his idea. Four hours after Mr
Pritchard launched his new "Life Saver" bottle at the DESI defence show
in London yesterday, he sold out his entire 1,000 stock. "I am bowled
over," he said.

Military chiefs are excited because the
bottles, which can distill either 4,000 litres or 6,000 litres without
changing the filter, will have huge benefits for soldiers who hate
drinking iodine-flavoured water.

In July a protype of the bottle was voted "Best Technological Development" at the Soldier Technology conference.

Is there really talks of Korea SK Telecom to purchase Sprint Nextel ????

Well this should shake up the market a tad, Korea's monster provider
is purportedly in talks to acquire Sprint Nextel. No details have been
released yet -- nor any solid confirmation from either side -- but
we're seeing it and hearing it all over this morning. It would indeed
be interesting to see Korea's largest carrier get into the market over
here -- well, aside from Helio
-- if only so we can get at some of those slick, slick, Korean
handsets. It seems that Telecom mergers are the new black, with Bell
Canada and Telus' attempt eventually falling off the rails, we'll see how SK Telecom and Sprint get along.

Everyone’s favorite singer from the UK can add acting to her list of talents. She has been offered a part as a “Bond Girl” in the latest flick Casino Royale’s sequel

because her look is reminiscent of the “retro glamour of the original movies.” SMH, aren’t Bond girls supposed to be sexy?
What the f*ck ever, all I know is that she better get her weight up

anyone is gonna be able to stomach that bag of bones in a bikini.
